BLOOD DONATION

Blood is essential to help patients survive surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. This lifesaving care starts with one person making a generous donation. The need for blood is constant

DONATING BLOOD SAVES LIVES

With every blood donation, you are providing strength, hope and courage to patients and their families in your local hospitals. One donor can help up to three patients.
Every year millions of lives are being saved because of donation of blood and blood products. Blood donation has helped various patients who were suffering from life threatening conditions to live longer with higher quality of life.
Donating blood is the most valuable gift we can give. The decision to donate blood can save a life or even several if the blood is separated into its components: red blood cells, platelets, and plasma since they can be used individually for patients with specific diseases.

A healthy person can restore donated blood in up to 60 days, which is why a donor can donate blood every 2 months.

Some misconceptions about Blood Donation:

The most common misconception everyone has is that they will faint or feel uncomfortable after donating the blood. Nothing as such happens after donating the blood.
The donor will not experience any kind of pain while donating the blood
There will be no scarcity of blood in the body after donating the blood as even after the donation the body will have a surplus quantity of blood.
You will be immediately able to resume your everyday activities after donating the blood, though the doctor will advise to refrain from exercise or heavy weight lifting for 12 hours after the donation.

From time to time, Benison Helping is organizing blood donation camps that can prove to be a life saviour for many people in times of emergency.
